The Australian Horse Industry Research & Development Trust has Deductable Gift Recipient status by the ATO. All donations over $2 are tax deductible.
Community Giving
Donations are accepted at any time. All donations from identified donors will receive a thank you email letter and information about how your donation provides valuable support. Information about how to donate can be found at the bottom of this page.
Double Your Donation: Here’s an exciting opportunity for you to double your investment in horse health & welfare — and help the Trust (AHIRDT) raise an additional funds for its equine health research programs through a matched giving program. More information coming soon.
Become a Supporter: A donation of $250 enables you to become a supporter of the Trust (AHIRDT). Making advances in horse care and welfare does not happen overnight and it is the very hard work of supporters, researchers, educators, horse owners and enthusiasts that are “change makers”.
Pledge Today for Tomorrow: Pledges are a promise to pay a regular amount for an agreed period. Examples might be $50 per month for 12 months or maybe $10,000 per year for five years. The amount and the time period are up to you!
Patrons: Patrons are donors of $10000 or more. Recognition of your support is given in the Annual Report and through invitations to meet advisory board members and attend functions.
Bequests: (Living Wills and Wills) Please enquire if you are considering including the Australian Horse Industry Research & Development Trust into your Will. Living Wills are larger donations made while you are still living.

Commissions: Arts & memorial program run by Horse SA. Purchase products, artworks or have a memorial made for your favourite pet and a donation is made to The Trust (AHIRDT) on your behalf. If you are an artist who would like to contribute a sales commission, contact horsesa@horsesa.asn.au
Memorial Program – In memory of a favourite horse owner, friend or hero: If you would like to honour the memory of a horse (or other animal) consider making a donation to the Trust (AHIRDT).
The Fund will ensure that your contribution continues to benefit the health & welfare of other horses for years to come.
When you make a memorial donation, the Trust will (on request) send a letter acknowledging the donation to you, or your thoughtful gift to the family of the horse if donated in memory of a horse owned by a friend or hero. The Trust will also include some information about the Trust programs so your or the horse owner know how your gift is working to improve horse health care and welfare.

Further options to have a permanent small memorial (plaque style) or living memory (tree) will be available by arrangement in the future.
Memorial Program – Veterinarians, farriers, equine dentists, equine service professionals: If you are a veterinarian or other equine service professional, you can pay tribute to your patients or clients by making a donation to the Trust (AHIRDT) through its equine memorial program.
Every time you make a memorial donation of $100 or more to the Fund in honour of a deceased patient or client, the Trust will send your client or your client’s family a letter acknowledging your contribution to the Fund. The Trust also includes some background information about the Fund and about its program activities.
Giving as a Club, Group or Business: A club, group of friends or a business can contribute as a collective. Why not have a social gathering, contribute a % from an existing fundraising event or make a donation at your AGM.
